If you combine Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with the Oscars, you get the Gold Gala—hosted by Bing Chen, Jeremy Tran, and the Gold House team—one of the most prestigious events for Asian and Pacific icons to gather together and celebrate each other’s achievements and their impact across the globe. The 3rd annual event filled the Music Center in downtown Los Angeles with almost 600 guests and legends with the theme, “A Gold New World,” which encourages attendees to imagine a world for all, built by all.

Upon arriving at the gala, we were led up a set of carpeted champagne gold steps that mirrored both the theme and event. At the top, we were greeted by a giant cloud backdrop, showcasing the gala’s partnership with Meta, Genesis, and Opentable. The talents walked down the gold carpet, each donning outfits that beautifully reflected their heritage, and we couldn't help but be swept up in the moment. "What a perfect time to celebrate AAPI Heritage Month," we thought, "and to be surrounded by such incredible talents and creatives, all gathered in one space to uplift and inspire one another."

A musical performance by Saweetie closed the Gala ceremony, while Nymphia Wind, the latest RuPaul's Drag Race winner, kicked off the afterparty with a drag performance, followed by a DJ set from Steve Aoki. Elsewhere, the karaoke room was another place to let loose or hear some superstars do what they do best. Auli'i Cravalho serenaded us with her soulful rendition of "Tennessee Whiskey" and Eric Nam mesmerized with a flawless performance of Usher's hit song "Burn."

As we mingled on the dance floor, we enjoyed delightful Panda Express dishes in charming to-go boxes. BOPOMOFO Cafe, founded by Philip Wang, transported us back to our childhood with flavors like ube and lychee milk tea with boba.

The night wasn’t just a celebration, but a showcase of fashion looks, character, and culture. Stewards of our community were able to so proudly, sincerely, be who they are and express it through stunning attire. Check out some of our favorite looks below!
