We recreated a 90s-style motel room in a studio, though the mood didn't come from the set — it came from the stillness. We moved through the space as if time had already slowed, settling into a quiet, reflective kind of boredom. The kind you only feel in temporary places, where your thoughts eventually grow louder than the room around you.
At some point, the furniture, the curtains, the tired light stop feeling like props and start to feel like atmosphere. Nothing is happening, but the room begins to feel real.
That's the premise of Room 147 — a study of the moments that usually go unnoticed, the in-betweens where it seems like nothing is happening at all. It plays on the idea that we're often most present in the stillest moments, even when we don't realize it. The intention is to gently turn attention toward that feeling, and to remind us that we still exist even when everything around us seems paused.
